Paddle WA is the state sporting association ‘With You On The Water’
We represent the entire paddlesports community in Western Australia.
We are a not-for-profit organisation, governed by a board of directors and we are affiliated with Paddle Australia, the national governing body. We consist of knowledgeable staff, dedicated discipline committees, wonderful paddling clubs, committed volunteers and experienced coaches.
We promote and support all aspects of paddling in WA; competitive racing, recreational and social paddling, coaching, education and training, safety and volunteering.
We cover paddlesports of sprint, slalom, marathon, wildwater, paracanoe, ocean racing, canoe polo, outriggers, freestyle, sea kayaking, stand up paddle-board (SUP) and other forms of recreational paddling. We oversee several paddlesport (discipline) committees.
Our clubs are our heart and soul. Our club paddling communities are inclusive and welcoming and we encourage you to join a club and connect with other paddlers. You are bound to find people with similar interests and values to yourself. We have a number of paddling clubs across Perth and the South West and all have unique and exciting opportunities on offer. All members enjoy paddling, knowing they’re fully covered with personal accident and public liability insurance.
Paddle WA takes pride in the relationship we have with our paddling community, so please reach out to us if we can be of service. We look forward to welcoming you to our paddling community and being With You On The Water!

Paddle WA Education provides courses for both new and experienced paddlers.
New Paddlers: Our Basic Skills Course is a half-day introduction to paddling that teaches essential paddling strokes and safety.
Experienced Paddlers: We provide formal qualification courses (PAQS) run over 1 or 2 days covering instruction and assessment. The Paddle Australia Qualification Scheme (PAQS) is the national benchmark for paddling, offering qualifications for Supervisors, Guides, Instructors, Sea Leaders, Assessors and Coaches with 3 or more years paddling experience.

LiveLighter Paddle Academy is a program offered by Paddle WA, where groups learn paddling skills to undertake a river trip, enclosed sea trip, a whitewater trip or general skills for any recreational paddling.
We encourage team bonding and improved mental and physical well-being. We strongly encourage groups to engage and interact with each other. Paddle Academy is fun, games and challenges for all ages and genders.
We specialise in school sessions for sport classes run throughout the school term. We also cover adults and any other group that requires development in the basics of paddling.
