We had our 3rd Wildwater race this morning, up at Walyunga National Park. The morning started with a chilling 4 degrees, but once the sun came out, it was a magic day for paddling. The water level was just above 0.4m on the gauge. Paddlers took off in 30 second intervals which made the racing very tight as they chased each other down over the 2.5km winding course. Wayne Martin smashed the field with an awesome display of paddling with a time of 10:03min. Bonnie Metzkewas the first female across the line in 11:37min. Peter Gigengack continues to kill the field in the wave hopper category with a time 11:44m.

There was some outstanding efforts also worth a mention with James Irwin finishing third in his first wildwater race. Michael Liddle staying upright and displaying a dominating performance and also Alexandra Vogel competing in her first wildwater race, and matching it against the rest of the seasoned paddlers. Special thanks to Patrick Irwin (timing) and Warren Southwell (race starter) for conducting a great race. Well done everyone. httpss://www.webscorer.com/racedetails?raceid=73124
