Update Friday 23rd June
As part of the refurbishment works, a diversion channel was created to allow water to flow from upstream to downstream of the dam. However recent heavy rainfall combined with high tides resulted in water levels above the weir/coffer dam. Water flowed around the weir and over some footpaths in the surrounding parkland. Water levels are now receding, however the rate at which the water can recede is influenced by the tide.
High tide is expected to peak tomorrow, and water levels are expected to return to normal over the coming days.
